Do you suffer from any of the following?

  • Aching jaw?
  • Headaches?
  • Dizziness?
  • Clicking jaw?
  • Ringing or congestion in your ears?
  • Stabbing pain behind your eyes?
  • Visual problems?
  • Sore neck muscles and tight shoulders?
  • Clenching or grinding your teeth?
  • Facial pain?
  • Postural problems?
  • Can’t open your mouth completely?
  • Numbness in your hands or fingers?

If you have any of these symptoms, you may be experiencing TMD, or Temporomandibular Disorder. TMD is caused when the jaw, or Temporomandibular joint (TMJ), is under stress from overuse, such as grinding or clenching. If your teeth are worn or you chew more on one side than the other, the TMJ can also be affected. Dr. Lachman can diagnose your problem and offer simple and effective treatment options.

Where is your TMJ?

Your TMJ is your jaw joint. Feel the movement in your jaw by placing your finger just in front of the middle of your ear and right under your cheekbone. Now open and close your jaw. Can you feel the movement of the jaw joint? That’s your TMJ. When stress is placed on the TMJ, symptoms may develop, such as headaches, tingling in your fingers and hand, and pain in your neck or shoulders.

Your pain can be relieved.

Dr. Lachman will determine if you are suffering from TMJ or TMD. Using treatments designed to fit your needs, Dr. Lachman will realign your jaw and jaw muscles to end the pain and suffering caused by the TMJ or TMD.
